Our "Sky Shepherds" program is designed to facilitate the donation of frequent flyer miles to Sharon Morey Ministries (SMM) from supporters who have unused or unwanted miles.  These donated miles will help pay for the travel of key personnel such as traveling staff, and allows us to budget more of our funds directly for the multi-media ministry.

HOW IT WORKS

The way we handle the "transfer" of miles from the donor to SMM depends on each specific airline’s rules.  We have surveyed a good number of airlines and have found that each operates their program differently.  (Go to Tripspot's Airlines page to find the rules for your airlines program.)  Even though the airlines’ rules may vary, the bottom line is that the frequent flyer member can always "purchase" a ticket for anybody she / he wishes using her / his accrued miles.

  1. Sign-up:  Use the form below or contact SMM by e-mail or telephone (1-877-994-5607 X100) to give us your name, contact information, airline name, frequent flyer account number and approximate number of miles you can donate.
  2. SMM Travel Needs:  When a time comes that SMM is in need of an airline ticket, we will consult our list of participating Sky Shepherd members and contact those participants who have accrued miles on an airline that offers the travel route we are seeking.  We will contact you to make sure that you still have the available miles and that you are still willing to donate them.
  3. SMM Makes Reservation:  Once we have your renewed permission, we, at SMM, will make the initial phone call to the airline to find the desired flights and put the reservation on hold.
  4. Frequent Flyer Involvement During Ticketing: At that point, some airlines will require that the Frequent Flyer Member become involved for security reasons, such as to:
    a.  Call in to "purchase" the ticket because they will want to ask you personal/security questions to verify the transaction.
    b.  Go to a nearby ticketing location to sign a "waiver" form.
  5. Ticket is Issued:  After the Frequent Flyer Member has approved the purchase, the ticket is usually issued as an E-Ticket.
In general, to "purchase" a ticket with frequent flyer miles the minimum requirement is 25,000 miles.  However, we welcome any amount of frequent flyer miles because many airlines will often allow the transfer of miles from one account to another so we can then consolidate several people’s miles.  Thank you for your support as a Sky Shepherd!
